Yes you can, the problem is this. XP talks to Vista very well. You will be able to access stuff on the XP machine just fine from the Vista machine, it doesn't work very well the other way around. Vista will not allow XP to get files from it very easily. Vista is stuck up that way.

Yes it is possible to network the two computers (I'd recommend doing so with a home router), and once they are networked, you can remotely connect to your XP computer from your Vista computer using Remote Desktop Connect.

Remote Desktop Connect allows you to access your entire XP system from your Vista machine as though you were actually sitting in front of your XP machine instead. You can run it in a window, or in full screen mode. This way, whenever you want to access the work application that only works on XP, you can just remote into your XP box from the Vista box.

To run Remote Desktop Connection click the Vista Start Button and either navigate to All Programs --%26gt; Accessories, or type Remote Desktop Connect into the search field. If you have it, you should see it come up in the search results.

Enter the name of your XP machine (or the machine's IP address if you know it) into the Remote Desktop Connect field. It will ask for your login credentials, and then you'll be in.

I hope this solves your problem,
