The only home system I'm aware of that kills germs and is

safe by not adding chemicals to water is the Blue Light System. Using light to kill germs in the holding tank. Yes boiling water will kill germs.......most home systems only filter out chemicals and impurities for softer water. But I'm not

really knowledgeable on this....Best do a internet search on co that sell products for this.
I'm with the reverse osmosis option. This is how the space shuttle recycles its water. A properly working system will give you near perfect water. Boiling is not necessary afterwards.
