Is it possible to recover windows xp from windows.old without removing Vista?

When I upgraded (psh) to vista i didnt know much about partitions and all that stuff well now i know how to do it but of course its too late! Is their any way to dual-boot with xp from my windows.old folder?

No, you can not dual-boot xp and vista but you can uninstall vista and have only xp if you didn't do a fresh install of vista.

Sure, you can dual boot, but you have to have XP installed first and then Vista installed on a separate partition.



However, if you have an XP Old folder you have used an upgrade to install Vista. An upgrade will not leave the old XP install intact, it ''upgrades'' the XP system files and allows you to keep all your old documents and stuff.



The XP Old folder allows you to revert back to XP, but not use it as an OS along side Vista. So the answer is |''no'' to your primary question, you cannot dual boot in your circumstances.
