Is there anyway for a logitech quickcam to become compatible with vista?

i got a logitech quickcam messenger from my sister, so i dont have the cd.

so i downloaded the software from the logitech website, but everytime i plug it in, the computer notices it but the software doesnt.

like, when i'm using quick capture, it says that nothing is connected, but the computer is saying that it needs to install drivers and software for the camera and etc. but, when it tries to ''install'' it, since i dont have the cd it finds nothing, and ends up not getting installed.

help?

That camera does have Vista software. If you downloaded it but didn't run the installer, you need to do the following:

1) disconnect the camera.

2) run the installation program.

3) connect the camera when prompted by the software.

If you continue to have problems, you can contact Logitech tech support from this page:

I wasn't able to get mine to work, even with going to the website and d/l everything I could think of...so I had to go buy a new one that was Vista compatible.
you should be able to go to logitech website and download the driver needed
ah this happend to me with a printer that i had while using my windows xp. when i got a new computer with vista, it wasnt compatible and best buy told me that whatever i have that isnt compatible, id just have to buy whatever i need new and make sure its compatible. sucks for things that ive been using for a while, but cant now :/ definitly one of the downfalls of vista... so i think youll have to buy a new webcam hah. sorry man!
