Vista has its own burning software DVD playing software. has superprefetch which makes it faster than XP in loading some pages. You can run mpeg movies as your wallpaper, some show-tos are in video, it has extensive help files that answer most of the questions people with Vista ask here, etc etc. Premium and up versions have Aero which is really nice. As far as being user friendly I would say that anyone who has never used XP or Vista would find it easier to use Vista than XP and simply because someone is versed in XP and isn't used to Vista doesn't constitute it being less user friendly simply because the user is more familiar with XP.
I have Vista 64bit Ultimate and find it to be superior to XP but it isn't for those who dont like change, or have computers with outdated hardware and inept ram. I have lots of computers and have Vista on my gaming rig. With the latest drivers and updates, lots of ram and tweaked right Vista purrs like a kitten. People hated XP when it first came out but now they're whining about Vista. Same thing will happen 3 years from now when Windows whatever comes out. With 512MB or 1GB of ram Vista is slower than XP but that's why you load it up with ram because Vista needs more ram because it does more. I don't understand why some people cant fathom that!
Just like bigger cars need bigger engines Vista needs more ram and if someone is too cheap to buy the ram needed to run a newer more extensive OS then they should stick with their XP. XP is yesterday's news.
