At this point there is no real benefit to switching to Vista unless you already have a fairly recent computer with lots of memory (2 Gb recommended) a big hard drive and a decent graphics card. Even then some things are noticeably slower on Vista than on XP...like copying large numbers of files from one folder to another. Reports of new compatibility problems with the first Vista service pack and some programs are another reason to wait until it matures a little more and the bugs get fixed.

ya its slow..... and it requires high configuration...you cant visit pirated websites...it has many restrictions and hence its worthless... compared to xp....
hmmm i'd wait a few year untill they bring another 100 service packs and bug fixes out, i tried it on my pc , i soon put xp pro back on , so much better and faster
Yes, but first go out and buy more RAM and a new 500 dollar video card. Download all the new drivers, check the HCL list and buy a new printer if you have to. Get a bigger hard drive. Replace your motherboard and CPU if you don't have a newer one. Spend hours installing all this, remember some of your programs won't work. Install SP1. Remember, some more of your programs won't work. If your computer works, sit back and enjoy being 40% slower than your XP machine, and having hundreds of dollars less in your pocket while not enjoying anything more than eye candy.
